The mother of one Hip-Hop's top producer Dr. Dre, Verna Griffin, is planning to release her memoirs. The book called Long Road Outta Compton: Dr. Dre's Mom on Family, Fame and Terrible Tragedy, will tell the story of her life including the death of three of her children, two who died as infants and the other from gang related violence. She will also reveal intimate details of her life, failed marriages, and of course, problems that came from being the mother of one of the most famous rappers and producers in the world. According to a press release, "This is a tale of a woman who faced constant battles head-on, who learned to transform failure into triumph, and whose inspirational story is one for us all." The New York Post is reporting that the book gives a behind-the-scenes look at a number of periods in Dre's life including the start of N.W.A. and the fallout from releases like Straight Outta Compton and F*ck The Police. In related news, rumors are starting that Dr. Dre and his mother are working on a new his and hers loungewear line, called Dre V Denee.

"I could remember my boys standing outside having a friendly conversation when, all of a sudden, I'd ... see the police with all of them spread-eagle up against the police car," Griffin states in the book. "This harassment was for no obvious reason except they saw black boys grouped together, and presumed to be up to no good. It was then I realized that the lyrics were just stories about things that were actually happening." Dre's mom graduated from Webster Career College also studied modeling and worked for McDonnel Douglas Aircraft Company as an Operations Control Analyst for 13 years.
