Juvenile's Agent Accused Of Rape

A man in North Carolina, who claims to be Juvenile's agent, is being charged with raping a woman while he was travelling with the New Orleans rapper in Kentucky.

According to New Orleans news channel 6 WDSU, the alleged rapist, John Cantey Jr., was taken into custody on Saturday (October 20). Cantey, 46, is a North Carolina councilman and is listed as the CEO of JC Houseman Productions, a North Carolina talent firm, according to a statement from Jeffersontown Police Chief Rick Sanders. Cantey won his political seat on the Lumberton City Council in a successful write-in campaign in 2005, after losing in 1997.

As detailed in the arrest report, Cantey allegedly took a Detroit woman to his hotel room and, after she declined to have sex with him, raped her. The arrest report also claims the victim positively identified Cantey, and provided officers with a business card he'd given her.

At his arraignment on Monday (October 22), Cantey pleaded not guilty and a judge ordered that he have no contact with the alleged victim. Sanders said that he traveled with Juvenile, who was in Kentucky to perform at a concert in Frankfort that night. Cantey's bond was set at $100,000.
