American Eagle Outfitters Taps Ludacris For Spring Break Performances

Monday, 05 March 2007 |   Written by Jason   PDF Print E-mail Post a Comment
Grammy Award winning rapper Ludacris and Black Eyed Peas member Fergie are teaming with retail giant American Eagle Outfitters for a series of Spring Break events in both Cancun and Acapulco, throughout the month of March.

Fergie will perform on the AE stage at The City in Cancun on Mar. 6. On Mar. 13, The Academy Is...and Cute Is What We Aim For will perform. Ludacris hits The City stage on Mar. 20.

“Whether it’s picking up a free AE tote bag with other Spring Break essentials, checking out exclusive performances on ae.com or in our stores, or uploading your own Spring Break videos, we’re excited to give our customers a great way to celebrate,” said American Eagle Outfitters’ Chief Marketing Officer, Kathy Savitt.

DJ AM will also spin during the AE sponsored "Thursday Club Nights" in Acapulco.

The announcement comes days after the company announced that it has been cleared to file an application to list its common stock on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

The company will begin trading under the "AEO" symbol on Mar. 8.

"Our transfer to the New York Stock Exchange is an important milestone for our company and highlights the outstanding growth and profitability we have experienced over the past several years," said American Eagle Outfitters' Chief Executive Officer, Jim O'Donnell. "As we look ahead, we are excited about our new relationship with the NYSE. We remain focused on creating shareholder value by expanding our brand portfolio, while continuing to drive strong profitability."

American Eagle Outfitters owns 834 stores stores in 50 states and Puerto Rico, and 72 AE stores in Canada.

The company earned $2.794 billion last year, with profits up 20%, compared to 2006.
