Ludacris' "Disturbing Tha Peace" label has re-signed a long term distribution deal it had with Island Def Jam Music Group, which will get rid of the rumors that had been going around that Def Jam dropped his Atlanta label. These rumors started last week but Ludacris, his partner Chaka Zulu and Jeff Dixon got rid of them by announcing the resigning. L.A. Reid, the Def Jam head guru, said "The Atlanta Hip-Hop scene and the Dirty South movement in general owe more than they can ever repay to Chris,” he told another site, “Our friendship stretches back more than a decade and I never cease to be amazed at his imagination, creativity, and most of all his outrageous sense of humor.” Reid went on to say that since both labels are changing their business situation, both labels will have to review their respective artist rosters “to ensure that future opportunities and challenges are aggressively achieved.”
Ried went on to say “Ludacris has built Disturbing Tha Peace into one of the iconic names
in hip-hop, one that will remain an important part of the Island Def
Jam family.” Luda is currently working on his sixth album, Theater of The Mind, and says “It almost plays out like a movie, the whole album does,” continuing by saying “You’re going to feel like you’re a part of it. Each
song, it all blends itself together and it’s theatrical. Music is
supposed to be emotional, you put yourself in the environment, you put
yourself in the atmosphere, it’s kind of like that..”
