Master P Denies Dropping Album To Compete With 50 Cent's Curtis

After announcing that he would release his new album on the same day as 50 Cent's Curtis, veteran rapper Master P has came out to clarify that he is not doing it to compete with the G-Unit General.

On the heels of 50 Cent's disrespectful statements regarding Master P's decision to clean up his lyrics, Master P announced he would release a collabo album with his son Romeo called Hip-Hop History on the same day 50 plans to release his third studio album.

But P says his choice to release it on that day has nothing to do with 50 Cent. Instead, he says he wants to give fans "a freedom of choice."

Master P told MTV that "the date was not chosen to compete with Curtis Jackson's delayed release, but rather to create balance in the marketplace and give kids a freedom of choice."

The album will reportedly feature guest appearances by Chamillionaire and Master P's brother Silkk The Shocker, among others. And it will not include any explicit language.

Proceeds from the sales of the album will help to fund school scholarship programs in the U.S.

Hip-Hop History is slated for release on September 4, the same day as 50 Cent's Curtis.
