Houston rapper Mike Jones' album, The American Dream, has been pushed back for the third time. Originally supposed to come out in 1st quarter 2007 it is now coming out in November. I heard the reason it kept getting pushed back is that the cd will come with a DVD as well and the DVD footage was not complete.
According to Billboard, Jones' sophomore effort, which was first expected to hit shelves in April and then moved to a July date, now won't see the light until November 20.
The rapper's first album, 2005's Who Is Mike Jones? has sold more than 1.4 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen's SoundScan.
The American Dream's first single, "Mr. Jones," topped out on Billboard at No. 54 while his second single, "My 64" featuring Bun B and Snoop Dogg peaked at No. 22. His latest song "Turning Headz," has yet to hit the charts.
The new CD will be sold alongside Jones' feature film debut of the same name, via Swishahouse/Asylum/Warner Bros. Records.
