Judge Denies Doctor's Testimony In R-Kelly Case

Today the judge in R. Kelly's case said that he will not allow the prosecution to call a pediatrician to the stand in the case where he is accused of having sex with a 14 year old on video tape. The girl who the prosecution believes was videotaped denies that it was her. Therefore, the prosecution wants to bring in a doctor to testify that denial is common among victims of child abuse.

With this being the second time the prosecution has tried to get the doctor's testimony in, "This doctor coming on would really be coming on to discuss credibility, and that's not beyond the ken of the jury," the judge said. R. Kelly's lawyer, said cases cited by prosecutors as precedent did not apply.  "There's a specific denial [by the girl] in front of the grand jury," Genson said.
