R. Kellys Marriage To Aaliyah To Be Used Against Him, Gets Ready To Release New Album

R. Kelly will now have his tainted past hurt him even more. Prosecutors in his child pornography trial want to introduce evidence of other crimes that Kelly allegely committed. The Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that prosecutors filed a motion to allow evidence of other crimes to be used including Kelly's 1995 marriage to the late singer Aaliyah when she was 15. At the time both camps denied the marriage but Vibe magazine published a copy of their marriage license which showed Aaliyahs age had been falsy listed at 18. The marriage was later annulled a few months later.
R. Kelly, who's 41 years-old, is accused of videotaping himself having sex with a 14 year-old girl. He is facing 14 counts of child pornography to which he pleaded not guilty. Jury selection for the trial starts May 9th. In other new, his label Jive Records, says R. Kelly is getting ready to release his 13th album 12 Play, this fourth quarter. The announcement of the new album was released after his new song "Hair Braider" [listen here] and a remix to Mariah Carey's "Touch My Body" [listen here].
