Update: R. Kelly Shows Up For Court, Avoids Jail

According to the Associated Press, R. Kelly made his court date this morning as appeared in front of a judge in his hometown of Chicago at 9 AM this morning. A warrant for Kelly's arrest would have been effective today if he not appeared in court this morning, as ordered.

R. Kelly's lawyer, Ed Genson, said the he was delayed by weather in Sacramento and additional slowing when the tour  bus was pulled over by police in Utah. The judge will likely set a trial date during today's hearing.
