LOS ANGELES — No five-second delay needed for this live broadcast. It was all innocent fun at Saturday's Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. The ceremony, now in its 17th year, was certainly a family event, with guests like Tony Hawk, Randy Jackson and Andre 3000 bringing their kids along to ogle such stars as Hugh Jackman, who accepted the burping contest trophy with a belch-riddled thank you. "Finally something my family can be proud of," the "X-Men" star said.
And speaking of awards, Outkast were the big winners, taking home orange blimp trophies for Favorite Group and Best Song for "Hey Ya!" Andre 3000, who opened the show with a karate-themed performance of the winning song, encouraged kids to "read and count and all that type of stuff" in his acceptance speech. "And stay away from them drugs," he added.
Other winners included Hilary Duff (Favorite Female Singer), Nelly (Favorite Male Singer), Jim Carrey (Favorite Movie Actor), Amanda Bynes (Favorite Movie Actress), Frankie Muniz (Favorite Male TV Actor), Raven Symone (Favorite Female TV Actor) and "Finding Nemo" (Favorite Movie).
