Common Goes Kanye-Less For His Invicible Summer
Thursday, 01 May 2008 Written by Jason    PDF Print E-mail
Although Common is becoming quite the actor lately, he still is working on his music. After releasing his last album, Finding Forever, Common was Grammy nominated for his collaboration with Kanye West on "Southside." Common even gave ‘Ye credit for inspiring him again, but for his new album he decided to go a different route. Common's new album, Invincible Summer, won't feature any production from Kanye West. Common says this is mainly because Kanye was busy on his Glow in the Dark tour, and Common said he couldn’t get much studio time with him.

Instead Com decided to work with the Neptunes and one-time OutKast contributor Mr. DJ. The new album is turning out to have an electro-tinged sound. Guests on the album will include Cee-Lo, Chester French, and Santogold. Invincible Summer is tentatively due in July.
