Mariah Carey is brining back hope to record companies, as sales projections of her new album E=MC² are over 500,000 copies for the first week. Mariah has been on a promotional tour that included appearances on "Oprah" and "American Idol." Mariah has already broken records with this album, by tying The Beatles with her eighteenth #1 hit on the Billboard charts.

British newcomer, Leona Lewis, is expected to come in second place with her new album Spirit. Some retail experts are predicting that E=MC² will break the 600,000 copies sold in it's first week. Both predictions are a welcomed report to the music business which has seen sales drop record numbers in the past few yeras.
