Extreme Music, a production unit under Sony/ATV Music Publishing, just signed rapper, actor, and mega star, Snoop Dogg. Big Snoop will executive produce a multi-CD series of original music for films, TV shows and commercial projects. Russel Emanuel, co-CEO of Extreme Music, said "When we decided to produce an urban series, we wanted it to be not only major league, but also 200 percent 'G,' with Snoop holding the reins."
The cd-series, called "G Series," is expected to be in styles similar to Smoking Grooves, Gangster Party and Slow Jams. The first of this series should be hitting stores this fall. Snoop spoke on the situation saying "I'm excited to get in tha lab and cook up some heat." Snoop's album Ego Trippin, is in stores now and his single "Sensual Seduction" made the top 10 in Billboard's Hot Rap Tracks.
