With five nominations, Pharrell Williams leads the field for the inaugural Vibe Awards. Set for Nov. 20 at the Santa Monica (Calif.) Civic Center, the event will be hosted by Queen Latifah and broadcast as a two-hour special the next night on UPN.

Performers and presenters will be announced in the coming weeks. Williams earned a mention in the most stylish category, while his guest turn on Snoop Dogg's "Beautiful" garnered nods in the reelest video, hottest hook and coolest collabo. His production duo the Neptunes (with Chad Hugo) and group N.E.R.D are up as a single entry in the tightest team players category. Beyoncé and 50 Cent follow with four nods apiece, while Sean Paul, Snoop Dogg and Jay-Z each earned three. Beyoncé, 50 Cent and Sean Paul are nominated for artist of the year. That category is rounded out by double-nominees Missy Elliott and R. Kelly.

The Vibe magazine editorial staff determined nominations; a panel of music journalists and entertainment executives will decide winners in all but one category. The winner of the "next" award for new artists will be voted on by fans via the Vibe's officila website

Chingy, Joe Budden, Bone Crusher, David Banner and Freeway will vie for the honor.
