Timbaland Wins Songwriter Of The Year At ASCAP Awards

    Last night was the 25th Annual ASCAP (American Society Of Composers, Authors and Publishers) Pop Music Awards in Los Angeles, CA and super producer Timbaland took home the Songwriter of the Year award. Over 1,800 attended the ceremony at the Kodak Theatre to honor the top songwriters in the world. Timbaland won the award for his contributions to nine award-winning songs, including "The Way I Are" featuring Keri Hilson and DOE, "Give It To Me" featuring Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado, Omarion's "Ice Box," Fabolous' "Make Me Better," Furtado's "Say It Right" and JT's "My Love," "Summer Love/Set The Mood "Until The End of Time," and "What Goes Around...Comes Around."

    Timbaland has been recognized three times by the ASCAP, including twice as Rhythm and Soul Songwriter of the Year. Fergie's "Big Girls Don't Cry" won the Song of the Year award and the Black Eyed Peas singler also collected Pop Awards for "Glamorous" produced by Polow Da Don and "Fergalicious," produced by will.i.am. Beyonce's "Irreplaceable," Beyonce and Stargate's Mikkel Eriksen & Tor Hermansen, and Nelly Furtado's "Say It Right," written by Furtado and Timbaland were among the top-5 most performed songs of the year.

    Akon, Stargate and Justin Timberlake won multiple Pop awards with five; Fergie, Keri Hilson and Ludacris with three awards; and Keyshia Cole, Furtado and The-Dream with two awards.
