Funeral services for late UGK member Pimp C will be held this weekend in his hometown of Port Arthur, TX according to the Hannah Funeral Home, which is handling the service. According to the Port Arthur News, the funeral home declined to confirm a specific time or date, but services are expected to be held on either Saturday or Sunday at the Robert A. “Bob” Bowers Civic Center. Adam Saunders, director of the center told the Port Arthur News that he is working with Pimp’s family on arrangements for the funeral.

Although rumors have circulated that a slew of rap artists, including UGK collaborator Jay-Z, will attend the service, Port Arthur Police Chief Mark Blanton told the paper he has not received any concrete information that might assist the department in any planning for crowd management. In related news, Pimp’s longtime partner Bun B learned on Thursday that UGK has been nominated for a Grammy for “Int’l Player’s Anthem,” their collaboration with Outkast that appears on the Underground Kingz album. This marks the second nod for the veteran duo, who were previously nominated along with Jay-Z for their song “Big Pimpin.” - xxl
