White Girl Writes Upcoming NWA Biopic

A N.W.A. biopic is on it's way and it will be written by a white woman. Andrea Berloff, the writer of Oliver Stone's "World Trade Center" film, has been selected to write the upcoming "Straight Outta Compton" biopic. According to the Hollywood Reporter, there is a trend in Hollywood to have Caucasian writers work on and write African-American-themed films, like past and upcomnig movies based on Martin Luther King, Richard Pryor and even Rick James.
Former member of N.W.A., Ice Cube, and Tomica Woods Write (Eazy-E's widow) will be producing the new film being put out by New Line Cinema. In related news, Ice Cube has signed on to play a police officer in the upcoming movie "Rampart," which will focus on the Los Angeles Police Department.
