As we previously reported today, Obie Trice has left Shady Records [read here]. Although many sites have reported negative things about the departure, he actually left on good terms. "Shady Records has agreed to allow Obie Trice to pursue his craft in a different forum free from the constraints of the current major label model," Paul Rosenberg said in a statement.
Obie Trice put out a track called "The Giant" [listen here] that people said were a diss to his former label and Eminem, but that simply isn't true. The lyrics in question were "Guess it was meant / for me to branch off from my Caucasian friend" and "Nope, no more 2nd place to Eminem / question if I was 2nd is the question to many men." Paul Rosenberg cleared the air saying "Eminem will continue to support and work with Obie on many levels of his career," continuing "He remains a close friend and member of the Shady family."
