Andre 3000 Now NOT Playing Jimmy Hendrix

Outkast's own Andre 3000 was reportedly signed on to play rocker Jimmy Hendrix. “Next
up is possibly a Jimi Hendrix biopic — an independent film with Andre
3000 from OutKast playing Jimi Hendrix. But I don't know, really. The
Atwell team is like, Let's just wait and see,” actress Hayley Atwell recently said.
Now, according to multiple reports, the Hendrix estate and his relatives are putting a hold slash stop on the project. Experience Hendrix and CEO Janie (Jimi’s sister) have “made it known many times in the past that no such film, were it to include original music or copyrights created by Jimi Hendrix, can be undertaken without its full participation.” Confirming there was a project but Andre 3000 is now not going to play the rocker, Hendrix' estate said “With Sony Legacy, our partner, we are active in releasing documentary material starring, so to speak, Jimi Hendrix as himself and plan to continue on this path."
