OutKast's Andre 3000 will be playing Sammy Davis, Jr. in an upcoming film documenting the star's relationship with Kim Novak.

According to The Kansas City Star, the film is entitled Sammy and Kim, and primarily deals with Davis' affair with the white actress. Davis' interracial romance with Novak caused a stir in the 1950s and threatened to derail both of their careers.

Sammy and Kim is not the only biopic in the works about Davis. There are three other flicks about the revered entertainer in the works, including In Black and White, which has Denzel Washington attached to it and two films titled Yes, I Can based on Davis' autobiography of the same name.

Dre is currently working with comedian Will Ferrell in an upcoming basketball comedy Semi-Pro. The film is set in the 1970s and centers on Jackie Moon, played by Ferrell, an owner, coach and player of the American Basketball Association's fictional Flint Michigan Tropics, who rallies his teammates to make their NBA dreams come true.

Semi-Pro will open in theatres on February 2008.
