Ne-Yo Wins $700,000 Suit Against R. Kelly's Promoter

Ne-Yo, along with his manager, sued R. Kelly's promoter earlier this year for breach of contract after Ne-Yo was kicked off the Double Up Tour. Besides being guaranteed close to $785,000, Ne-Yo says he was kicked off the tour after only performing twice because he was "outshining" R. Kelly. Leonard Rowe of Rowe Entertainment (the promoter being sued) said they removed Ne-Yo because the verbal contract they had wasn't good enough saying “I had no other alternative but to release Ne-Yo from the tour. From a business perspective, it would have been extremely difficult for me to continue under this cloud of uncertainty.”

Today a Los Angeles Judge sided with Ne-Yo citing that Rowe Entertainment has refused to respond to the lawsuit. Ne-Yo is expected to get about $700,000 in compensation.
