Dame Dash is backing Jim Jones fully. Damon thinks that Jones next solo album is going to be a huge hit. Jim Jones signed a lucrative deal with Columbia Records last year and ex Roc-A-Fella head honcho Damon Dash thinks the new album will be a "classic." Damon grew up with Jim Jones and said he's known the Dipset member since he was six years old, but he hasn't always been supportive of his career. "I told Jim not to rap because he's not a rapper," Dash admitted. "I
looked at him like a business man. But he has enough swagger and
personality to pull it off."
Jim Jones is currently working on the album Dash is talking about, which will be his follow up to 2006's Hustler's P.O.M.E (Product of My Environment) that was lead by the hit single "Ballin." Dame said "Through his practice and his relentless assault on making music, a
record every day, he actually got pretty good," Dame said. "So his new
album, I think he might have come up with a classic, and that's me
saying that." Dash also said that Jim has two movies in the works, a book and a Byrd
Gang album coming out in June.

Foxy was sentenced to time served, and she submitted a letter of apology. Although there are rumors that someone attempted to serve Foxy with a lawsuit, her legal troubles and court dates seem to be coming to an end. Congrats Foxy!

T.I. has stated that his new album, Paper Trail, may have the lyrics toned down "ever so slightly" due to his recent legal troubles and having the experience of talking to youth all over the states. "Not to a great deal or an extra degree of censorship, I'm just making
sure this album is much more intelligently and artistically put
together," T.I. said in an interview, continuing "I'ma still get loose now. I'ma still do
me. But you know when I was living the way I was living, I was rapping
the way I was rapping ... A lot of elements that were in my life no
longer exist."
Led by the new Timbaland-protege Danjahandz produced "No Matter What," Paper Trail will hit stores August 12, T.I. recently said. TIP was recently on BET for a special called "T.I. Speaks" for the first televised interview since he plead guilty to weapons charges. T.I. will also be continuing his acting career by staring in a film from New Line called For Sale, which is produced by Grand Hustle plus he will make a cameo appearance in HBO's hit series "Entourage."

DMX's luck isn't getting any better. Yesterday we reported that the local sheriff said that the investigation into X's animal cruelty charges was still on going and now DMX has been arrested. X was arrested by Arizona police after they viewed a video of DMX driving his 96' Chevy 114 miles per hour. DMX was charged with reckless driving, racing on a highway and three counts of criminal speed, two counts of endangerment and driving with a suspended license.
The camera caught X on the 21st of January breaking the speed limits and laws. In a matter of minutes, DMX was clocked driving 100, 114 and 101 by different speed monitors. “We have made several arrests in the last few months of those people who flagrantly violate the speed limit and therefore endanger the lives of everyone else on the road, ” an Arizona police spokesman said. Officials did say that DMX was “cooperative” during the procedure. X has since been released on bail. No court date has been set as of press time.

Although Crunk music seems to be out of the spotlight and their label TVT Records recently filed for bankruptcy, the Ying-Yang Twins are keeping positive. The duo is currently preparing their 7th album, Ying Yang For President, which will hit stores this summer.
"TVT has been a perfect label for the Ying Yang Twins, for the simple fact that when we first came in they told us they didn't understand what we do but they'll give it a shot," Kaine of the Ying Yang Twins said. "All the hit records and videos you guys have seen were with the Ying Yang Twins, Mr. Collipark, and TVT, which means they have gave us the greatest representation of our career."
Their current single, "Drop" is part of an album which they say has been influenced by production from Mr. Collipark and Lil Jon and the ATL boys. "We got some of our own people, we trying to show people that D-Roc and Kaine furnish their own sound, without anybody included," Kaine said. "Crunk ain't dead," the other member of the Twins, D-Roc said "You come to Atlanta it's still the same way - ten times more crunker."

R. Kelly asked for a delay today for his child pornography trial in a Chicago courthouse today. Kelly's lawyer Ed Genson said "We ask to continue the case because of the torrent of publicity over the weekend." Kelly's lawyer was talking about the news which the Chicago Sun-Times reported on Saturday that stated one of the so-called "secret witnesses" was recently added to the witness list is a woman that claimed she had participated in a three-way sexual encounter with the singer and the allegedly underage girl who appears on the sex tape at the heart of the charges.
The new witness will surely hurt Kellys defense which says he was not the man on the tape. Presecutors asked to respond to the defense request Friday and at that time the Judge will rule on the motion. R. Kelly is charged with 21 counts of child pornography and if convicted he faces 15 years in prison. Jury selection was scheduled for Friday.

DMX's troubles involving his animal cruelty continues. Local news station, KTAR is reporting that Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaino, who recently declared himself the “toughest sheriff in America," revealed that the investigation into DMX animal cruelty charges is “full progress.”
Arpaio said "When I say I'm going to do something, I do it, OK? Some of you may think I do it just to get publicity and then hide,” continuing, “No. The DMX investigation is in full progress. Very soon, I will announce a resolution to that case.” DMX was accused of animal cruelty last August, after officials found 12 undernourished dogs and three buried dogs in the backyard. It should be noted that DMX has never been charged with a crime relating to the case.
Sheriff Arpaino isn't innocent. In 2004 Arpaino and members of a SWAT team raided a house, which later went up in flames. They were accused of driving a dog back into the house and then laughed as the owners watched the dog die an agonizing death. "I was crying hysterically," said Andrea Barker shortly after the botched raid. "I was so upset. They [deputies] were laughing at me."

DJ Green Lantern will lead fellow DJs, recording artists, and activists in a rally in Washington DC this summer called the "Million DJ March." The march will attempt to shed light on issues affecting DJs like hoping for better compensation, security, recognition for contributions to the music industry and an organized union for professional DJs.
The event that will be held on August 28th-30th, is headed up by A. Shaw, who is a long-time sponsor of Justo's Mixtape Awards. "DJ's do not get fully recognized for the work they do," Shaw said, "Label and major businesses who reap the rewards of default publicity need to pay attention and give more recognition and financial compensation to DJs for the promotion they provide, without which music sales would surely suffer."
"I am calling upon the industry to show support for an event to unify deejays and help create future economic safety for those that have chosen this art form as a career," Shaw said. Sponsors and attendees will be treated to artist performances, speeches by music industry leaders and founding DJs.
