Lil Romeo may not be Lil anymore but he doesn't want to lose his young fans. Romeo plans to release a new educational children's book and cartoon with his father Master P. Their new character, Gee Gee The Magical Giraffe, will have it's own book and cartoon series and Romeo hopes to use it as a learning tool. "If you reach kids with a positive message and instill the importance of education when they're young, they'll have that mentality for the rest of their life," Romeo said. “Gee Gee is going to be a role model and teach kids trough music, books, song, dance, and animation."
The new project will also feature Romeo's sister, Itali Miller, who will help write the books. Cartoonists Ryan Hutchinson and Olatokunbo Betiku will work on the cartoon series and Master P hopes to follow his sons example for providing alternatives to negative images. "There just aren't enough positive characters out there for our kids to look up to and learn from," said Master P. "Gee Gee is more important than any record or movie we’ve made. Romeo has inspired me to develop educational characters of my own. Instead of going into the booth to rap, I'll be in the booth lending my voice to a cartoon character that can make a difference."
The first Gee Gee the Giraffe cartoon DVD is slated to hit stores in 2009. A Gee Gee film is scheduled to arrive in theaters that same year.

Snoop Dogg seems to get bad news wherever he goes lately. First the UK tried to ban him for a third time and now his appearance at the 2nd Annual Monterey Music Summit is causing officials and residents to get upset. The Monterey County Board reached an agreement yesterday with the promoters of the event to give them a permit for the performance, only if they have lots of security.
The permit calls for metal detectors at the front entrance and undercover county sheriffs to be at the event. They have banned all firearms at the event except for on-duty officials and Snoop Dogg will have to undergo exra searches of himself, his entourage and vehicles.
The three-day festival takes place on May 30th at Laguna Seca and aims to promote peace and eco-friendsly behavior. The Crystal Method, Ozomatli, Taking Back Sunday, Ky-Mani Marley and more will also perform at the event.

As most people have heard by now, 50 Cent had his chain stolen right off of him as he was performing in Africa. The news broke over the weekend and a video of the incident has been circling the internet [watch here]. 50 Cent addressed the issue by writing "Recently 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo were performing in Angola,
Africa. Being that security was limited, fans were able to interact
with the group onstage. However one fan had a different motive, and bit
off more than he can chew, as he attempted to run up on 50 and snatch
his chain."
Now the man who is accused of snatching the necklace hs been turned in by his parents. The Angola Press is reporting that Bruno Carvlho was turned in to the local police by his parents. TMZ reported that an unnamed G-Unit insider said what isn't seen in the fan video was that 50 jumped off the stage "and punched the man who tried to jack him." The insider also reportedly said, "The chain is around 50's neck right now." A spokeswoman for 50 Cent at Interscope Records told The New York Times that the interloper had been prevented from leaving, and that 50's chain had been recovered.

T.I. has been hard at work on his new album, Paper Trail, which is due in stores in September. Recently he revealed to a Atlanta radio station that he has "ever so slightly" toned down the lyrics for his new album due to a newfound understanding that he has learned from his past year of troubles including talking to children about guns and drugs. "Not to a great deal or an extra degree of censorship, I'm just making sure this album is much more intelligently and artistically put together," T.I. said, continuing, "I'ma still get loose now. I'ma still do me. But you know when I was living the way I was living, I was rapping the way I was rapping ... A lot of elements that were in my life no longer exist."
T.I. also said that Lil' Wayne, Diddy, Jay-Z and Nelly all reached out to support him during the rough last year. Young Jeezy even came to one of his bond hearings but T.I. said he spoke to Busta Rhymes and Eminem the most. "The only person I spoke to more than Busta was Eminem," he revealed. "Me and Eminem, we stayed in contact, stayed on the phone, making sure each other was doing good."
T.I. will be doing his first televised interview on BET tomorrow since pleading guilty on weapons charges. The interview will be on at 7:30 pm eastern time.

Lil Wayne is getting ready for his new album, Tha Carter III, to be released on June 10th. Tour plans are on the mind of Weezy now. Wayne was talking to 50 Cent & G-Unit to go on tour after his album was released but now Wayne is changing his mind. "Um, that one, I don't think is gonna work no more, It was something that ain't went right." Lil Wayne said, speaking about the tour with G-Unit.
Wayne told MTV News that "I think I might go out with
Keyshia Cole. You're bringing two different types of people in there.
You got people coming to soothe their souls with Keyshia, and you got
people who wanna throw their hands up with me. It's like listening to
the radio. I think a concert should be like listening to the radio.
When you listen to the radio, and your top-five or top-eight songs come
on, it's hip-hop, it's R&B. ... I think you gonna get that from me
and Keyshia and whatever in between that."
