Iran Bans Rap Concerts; Claim Music is “Problematic”

Posted By on January 8, 2015

Apparently, Hip Hop is not welcomed in Iran. At all. According to The Jerusalem Post, the Middle East country has put a ban on rap concerts.

Iran’s spokesman for its Ministry of Culture and Islamic guidance, Hussein Noosh- Abbad, told the newspaper the music causes trouble and they are ready to do what is needed to make sure it doesn’t take place on their land.

“This music encourages wild behavior that could have a detrimental effect on society,” Noosh- Abbadi said.

“We don’t want to have it,” he said. “And we will prevent any unwanted incidents normally associated with such concerts and other events.”

  • The Iranian people are deserving of a better economy, access to the internet, unfettered use of social media and the right to buy whatever they want and and listen whatever they want without fear of being arrested, imprisoned, flogged, beaten or hanged by a bunch of deranged mullahs. Let’s hope that the power of the people can help move the dial for Iran to become a more democratic and pluralistic society where listening to Rap is not a crime.
