Sources report that although rapper Lil Boosie is serving a significant sentence in the Angola State Prison in Louisiana, he has chosen to take the necessary steps to improve himself. The first of these steps was to successfully complete a GED program.
According to a report by Miss Info, Boosie, who is currently serving out an eight year bit in Angola (One of the toughest and most dangerous prisons in the country.), has successfully completed the GED program offered at the Prison. Boosie is serving the eight year sentence due to a conviction for conspiring to smuggle weed, ecstasy, and codeine into the state. Louisiana, which is known for its tough laws on crimes involving illegal drugs, is known for heavy sentences for those convicted of such crimes. It is often thought that it is better to commit murder in Louisiana that to get caught dealing with drugs.
According to a recent interview with SPIN, Boosie may be paroled as early as this coming summer.
Below you will find a photo of the rapper posing with his family after his graduation and receiving his diploma.
Also, it is worth noting that Boosie was acquitted of first degree murder charges in May of 2012.
