It was last month that reports hit the airwaves that veteran rapper, MC Hammer had been arrested in Dublin, CA and charged with obstructing the carrying out of duties of a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer.
According to Hammer, the officer pulled his gun and inquired as to whether the rapper was on probation or parole. The complete details of the encounter are still somewhat nebulous, however, irregardless to the happenings to this point, Hammer took to the Twitter airwaves recently to announce that the Charges have been dropped. He thanked his friends and supporter and closed out the tweet.
From the beginning, Hammer has insisted that the entire incident was racially motivated, a part of racial profiling.
Thank You to all my friends and supporters. All CHARGES DECLINED. Dropped. Have A great Weekend.
At the current time no further details have been revealed, but based on the nature of the allegation that the rapper is making toward the police department, the possibility of legal action against the police department is a possibility.
It is worth noting that the Dublin Police Department has adamantly denied the accusations that the incident was racially motivated.
