Harlem rapper, Vinny Chase has become the latest artist to sign a significant contract with a major label. The rapper, just this week, inked a deal with Epic Records; a deal that is worth more than $2.5 million. In an exclusive interview with MTV, Chase spoke candidly about the deal with Epic as well as Diddy being one of his idols growing up.
As most New Yorkers, Vinny has great pride in his city. Being Harlem proud definitely explains his appreciation of Diddy and the things he has accomplish in the industry. He spoke about all of this during the interview.
“I mean to me he’s an idol because like not only because of the stuff he did with Big is that he started in the game young just like us,” Vinny explained. “And a lot of people told him he couldn’t do this and he couldn’t do that…It’s like he made it through all of these things and it’s like through the whole way he kept reppin’ Harlem and he put Harlem in such a special place by putting other people like Mase on.”
He even shared one of his favorite Puff Daddy moments.
“The first CD I bought was Puff Daddy & The Bad Boy Family…It was like a sepia tone cover. That was my first joint. It’s funny to be dealing with dudes like that now. It’s pretty ill,” said the rapper.
