After leaving No Limit Records then being Lil Wayne's right-hand man on Young Money, New Orleans own Curren$y plans to release his debut album, "This Aint No Mixtape" on April 21st, only there is a catch. The album will only be available for digital download through his website of the same name.
After leaving the two major labels, Curren$y first thought he would get another deal but that later changed. "I thought that I was gonna wait for a deal situation, but I just got soured on the whole process of trying to get the deal and the meetings and things of that nature, so I decided to take it into my own hands," Curren$y says. "Once I realized there was nobody else—no system of checks and balances—to go through as far as release dates and shit like that with me, I was like, ‘Well, shit then, I’m coming out now."
