Posted By on September 24, 2008

To celebrate Hip Hop and their upcoming Hip Hop Honors award show, VH1 is counting down the top 100 Hip Hop songs of all time. Today they announced that Public Enemy's "Fight The Power" took the number one spot. Coming in number 2 is The Sugar Hill Gang with "Rappers Delight" followed by Dr. Dre's "Nothin But G Thang" in number three.

Salt-N' Pepa were the only female artists to make it into the top ten with "Push It," it doesn't help that they recently reunited on a VH1 reality show. Other artists that made the list include Biggie Smalls, Jay-Z and Eminem. Check out the complete  countdown on Monday, September 29th. Interviews and performances from Public Enemy, Run DMC, Salt-N-Pepa, Outkast, Eminem and Grand Master Flash will be featured on the five part series.
