Heavyweight Champion Lennox Lewis Brings Together Hip-Hop Talent from Both Coasts for a Sin City-Style Collaboration and DVD Documentary

LAS VEGAS – June 5 2003 – Lennox Lewis hosts “Fight Night,” a documentary and soundtrack of the urban Las Vegas’ underground scene. Lewis, the world-renowned heavyweight champion, teams up with Too Short, Yukmouth, Mitchy Slick, RBX and other hip-hop artists for this first ever fusion of hip-hop and boxing.

“Fight night in Las Vegas is one of the biggest nights in the world, when all eyes are on the TV screen, “ says Larry Jones, president of A.B.Y.S.S. Music Group. “I wanted to take that energy to the world, the energy of that night, when the fighter enters the MGM. ‘Fight Night’ is a way for that energy to come up out of Vegas.”

The soundtrack, which is in stores June 24, 2003, features some of the hottest MCs and hip-hop artists from both coasts along with guest rappers, Lenox Lewis and Floyd Mayweather, Jr. The soundtrack is a collection of handpicked urban tracks produced by Truth Born, Lenox’s younger brother.

“Fight Night” the DVD (in stores late July) is a documentary of life inside and outside of the boxing ring. It depicts the real Las Vegas, including scandalous after-parties, street life and candid interviews with Lewis. The “Fight Night” soundtrack is enhanced with a trailer for the DVD documentary.

We’re showing people what really goes down in Las Vegas in the urban scene,” says Blackju of A.B.Y.S.S. “In other cities the doors close at 2 a.m. We’re start getting dressed in midnight, we hit the club at 2 a.m. and we’re in full swing by 4 a.m. This city is going all day and night.”
