The beef between New York radio stations, Hot 97 and Power 105 has finally spilled into the streets. According to the NY Daily News, Hot 97 DJ, Funkmaster Flex was arrested for attacking Power 105 DJ, Steph Lova outside of the Hot 97 studios last week.
Apparently, Steph Lova was standing outside the studios on the sidewalk talking to some friends. Flex came out of the building verbally abusing her and then according to Steph Lova, Flex began to hit her, choke her and scratch her. As she ran to her Jeep to flee, Steph said that Flex threw a wad of cash at her to pay for any of the damage that he caused her. On Friday, Steph Lova filed a police report about the assault and Flex turned himself in on Sunday and was charged with 3rd degree assault. He was released on his own recognizance and was ordered to appear in court next month.
The beef is assumingly stemmed from when Steph Lova interviewed Nas on the air over the summer after he walked out performing at the Hot 97 Summer Jam. During the interview, Nas verbally attacked Flex claiming that he took payola and that fans should try to snatch his chain.
