BEVERLY HILLS – February 17, 2003 – Interscope Records National Urban Field Director Kevin Black will be honored for his support and outstanding contribution to the music industry at the 5th Annual Impact Record Pool Awards to take place Tuesday February 25th, 2003 at the Regency Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
In Celebrating people that IMPACT the music industry, Black successfully strategized the promotional campaigns of Eminem, Eve, 50 Cent, Limp Bizkit, Dr. Dre, Blackstreet, and The Lox among many others, and therefore is considered “The Man,” the hit-maker in today’s Hip-Hop world. One of a handful in his position, black explains that a promotion is an art, a gift. It’s nothing you can be taught; you just have to have it – and to make it in this industry, you have to want it.”
Marking Impact Record Pool’s 24th year, George Daniels of George’s Music Room will host the Impact Record Pool Awards Dinner and pay tribute to industry executives for their superlative contributions to the music industry. Alongside Kevin Black, Impact will also award Cecililia McCledon aka “C Murda” Vice-President of R&B Promotions at Arista Records and Jon Platt AKA “Big Jon” Senior Vice-President, Creative of EMI Music Publishing.
With the hottest records on the street right now, it’s no secret; Kevin Black is doing his job and well. His formula for success “I take a simple management style, I think from the executive suites to every corner of the streets” never forgetting who really makes a hit – the fans.”
