Mims Remains ‘Hot’ At No. 1, Akon Stays Close

Rapper Mims' "This Is Why I'm Hot" begins a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, a week after rocketing 32-1 on the chart. The song also inches up 4-3 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, which is ruled for a fourth week by Robin Thicke's "Lost Without U." Mims' Capitol debut, "Music Is My Savior," arrives March 27.

Akon's "Don't Matter" is close behind at No. 2 on the Hot 100 for a second week and is the chart's greatest airplay gainer. Akon is also present at No. 3 as a guest artist on Gwen Stefani's "The Sweet Escape," which rises from No. 4. At No. 5, Avril Lavigne has the chart's top debut with "Girlfriend," also her best career debut on the Hot 100. The cut sold 122,000 downloads, an impressive tally considering it is just now starting to garner radio play.

Fall Out Boy's "This Ain't a Scene, It's An Arms Race" climbs 8-6, while Gym Class Heroes' "Cupid's Chokehold" featuring Patrick Stump drops 5-7. Fergie's "Glamorous" featuring Ludacris soars 55-8; the song's temporary removal from iTunes and its subsequent return explain its yo-yo chart movement the past few weeks (9-33-55-8).

Rihanna's "Break It Off" featuring Sean Paul is up 10-9 and is the chart's greatest digital gainer, while Nelly Furtado's "Say It Right" slips 6-10 to round out the top 10.

Behind Lavigne, the top debut comes from former "American Idol" contestant Elliott Yamin with "Movin' On" at No. 61. Also new this week is the Dixie Chicks' "The Neighbor" at No. 74, Bow Wow's "Outta My System" featuring T-Pain and Johnta Austin at No. 76, Ciara's "Like a Boy" at No. 81, current Billboard 200 chart-topper Daughtry's "Home" at No. 83, Ne-Yo's "Because of You" at No. 84 and the "unplugged" version of Korn's "Freak on a Leash" featuring Evanescence's Amy Lee at No. 89.

On Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, Kelly Rowland's "Like This" featuring Eve opens at No. 69, her first appearance as a lead artist on this chart since "Can't Nobody" in 2003. Rowland's new album, "Ms. Kelly," arrives June 26 via Columbia.

Trace Adkins' "Ladies Love Country Boys" is at No. 1 for a second week on the Hot Country Songs chart. Brad Paisley's "Ticks" is that chart's top debut at No. 50; it introduces a currently untitled new album that is also without a street date. The song was premiered during the annual Country Radio Seminar in Nashville.

On Hot Latin Songs, Conjunto Primavera's "Ese" rises 3-1 to overtake last week's chart-topper, Alejandro Sanz's "Te Lo Agradezco, Pero No" featuring Shakira.

Three Days Grace continues is dominance on Billboard's rock charts with "Pain," which enters a 13th week at No. 1 on the Mainstream Rock tally and a third at the top of Modern Rock.
