Nelly recently pulled out of a European tour to spend time with his ailing sister, Jackie, who is suffering from leukemia, according to published reports. The now-postponed European dates were rescheduled from March until the fall.
In related news, Nelly has released the fourth single, “Pimp Juice,” from his quintuple-platinum album, Nellyville. The set is holding strong at number 21 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
Last month, Nelly received his first two Grammys at the 45th Annual Grammy Awards in New York City. The rapper won in the Best Male Rap Solo Performance category for “Hot In Herre” and in the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration category for “Dilemma” featuring Kelly Rowland.
More accolades are headed Nelly’s way. He will be given Soul Train’s 2003 Sammy Davis Jr. Award for “Entertainer of the Year.” The syndicated award ceremony will be broadcast live this Saturday, March 10th.
