New York, August 3 2004- Fat Joe and the Terror Squad’s latest release, True Story charts in the top 5 on Billboard their first week in stores.

Lean Back,” the first single off True Story has been rising up the radio charts each week since its release. This week the single received over 9,800 spins at urban radio. The video directed by Jessy Terrero, was added as Buzzworthy at MTV. And “Lean Back” is currently the #1 video on both BET and the MTV2 Hip-Hop Countdown.

“When we started recording this record,” says Joe, “my goal was to find special beats that sounded different from anything that we’ve ever done before, but that still have that hard NY shit that our fans have come to expect.” The result is undeniable. Songs like “Hum Drum;” “Streets of NY”-Tony Sunshine’s tale of NY summer love featuring Remy Ma and “Bring’em Back,” in which Fat Joe features never before heard rhymes from Big El and fellow Terror Squad leader Big Pun are just a sampling of the lush musical landscape exemplified on True Story. The second single, “Take Me Home” produced by Miami heatmakers Cool & Dre, featuring Fat Joe, Remy Ma and Armageddon will only continue to build on the radio success of “Lean Back” and solidify Terror Squad’s summer takeover.

Terror Squad, the brainchild of veteran Latino Bronx rapper Fat Joe, began when Joe found his protégé and superstar, Big Punisher in ’96. Together the two made platinum magic on Pun’s two classic albums, Capitol Punishment and Yeaah Baby!, and introduced the world to their BX-based crew, with their critically hailed, self-titled debut. Although Pun passed in 2000, Fat Joe has persevered to keep Terror Squad together. Terror Squad’s lineup consists of Fat Joe, Prospect, Armageddon, R&B singer & heartthrob Tony Sunshine and Pun’s female protégé Remy Ma.

Fat Joe sums it all up best, “This summer is going to belong to Terror Squad. In between every Fat Joe & Terror Squad, album people always want to count us out. But we’re not going nowhere and True Story is the proof. “Lean Back” is just the beginning.”
