Rick Ross is currently on pace to sell between 150,000-160,000 copies of his third album, "Deeper Than Rap," during its debut 1st week, according to HitsDailyDouble. Ross recently left Slip-N-Slide records to create his own Maybach Music Group through Def Jam and his last album, "Trilla," is certified Gold, with over 700,000 sales to date.
As we reported yesterday, the face off between Ricky Ross and new rapper Asher Roth is turning out not to be a face off at all. After confirming that his label underestimated his sales and only shipped around 100,000 copies, Asher Roth stayed positive saying "[But] A lot of our following is digital as well, so it was hard to really gage what they were going to do." Asher
even defended the mistake saying "We also don’t really want to over
ship, especially in this economy. We’re all right, we’ll get it out
there. People will get the CD." [watch here]
