Album Sales Chart – Week Ending 1/18

    Leading all Rap & Hip-Hop albums this week is the soundtrack for the new "Notorious" film with just over 39 thousand copies sold, landing at number 4. Although he lost two spots, Kanye West continues to do well as his "808s & Heartbreak" album took home 5th by pushing another 38,912 copies while Akon also dropped 2 positions as his "Freedom" managed to sell just over another twenty-three thousand copies. T.I. lands at 16th (down 2 from last week) as his "Paper Trail" sells just over 20 thousand copies while Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter III" stays at number 22.

    On the R&B tip, Beyonce continues to dominate the charts as she gained two spots landing at number 2 this week after selling another 51,176 copies of her "I Am… Sasha Fierce" album. Jamie Foxx stays at number 8 with another 32,592 copies sold followed by Keyshia Cole who lost 2 spots (9th) with just under thirty-two thousand copies sold. Rihanna drops 2 spots landing in 20th after 17,060 copies of her album sold, plus John Legend gains 20 spots (up from 45th) as his "Evolver" album sells close to another 15,000 copies.
