With a different director and almost 12 years after the last Terminator
movie, I wasn’t expecting anything good neither was I impressed with the
previews. However, I was proved wrong with a nicely done sequel and impressed
in some aspects and not so much in others.
After watching the ending of T2, it seemed like it was the end of the
series and I thought they would have to try too hard to get a decent plot
for another one but it seemed like it was another episode. The major problem
I had with this movie though is the major plot holes on which it builds
up from the start. Some of them are explained during the movie but for
some reason they made this one with very few scenes where they actually
talk and explain what is goin on. That lets the movie goes faster and
keeps the audience interested but I’d rather know what is happening than
just go straight to the action.
Arnold repraises his role as a T-800 though a different one than the
one in the second movie. I didn’t really notice that he is old though
he is about 55 years old which is hard to hide but somehow he managed.
Kristanna Loken, comes in the series with a good preformance. Though in
some parts she shows some “feelings” with her facial expressions
which shouldn’t happen if she is a terminator but i guess it is very hard
to avoid such thing. She was impressive with alot of complicated fight
sequences. I didn’t like either of the other 2 main character. Nick Stahl
plays John Conner and he sucks pretty much but with all the action you
kinda get over it. As for Claire Danes , she did okay but nothing special.
The digital effects and action are impressive in this movie. With the
same type of setting as the first two film, there are alot of memorable
scenes with the terminators fighting. Like others, I was dissapointed
with the ending because it wasn’t a big scene and it just ended rather
slow then it should have. They leave the door wide open for a sequel and
actually Arnold is already talkin about a 4th sequel.
This isn’t the best of the series , I prefer T2 but it isnt a big dissapointment.
Besides some lack of plot details and a slow ending this is a very good
action flick. A perfect popcorn flick if you just want to enjoy alot of
action and some cool effects.
MPAA: Rated R for strong sci-fi violence and action, and for language
and brief nudity
T3 opens nationwide Wednesday July 2nd, 2003.
