“Reincarnated”, The Much Criticized Snoop Lion Documentary to Premiere in Theaters March 15

Posted By on February 1, 2013

There has been so much controversy behind the conversion of Snoop Dogg to Rastafarianism and the subsequent change of his name from Snoop Dogg to Snoop Lion; but even more criticism is coming from the much discussed documentary “Reincarnated” which documents Snoop’s decision to convert to the rastafari movement and conversion process.

After so much resistance and backlash, the film, which is a joint production between Snoop’s Snoopadelic Films and Vice Films, has received a limited theatrical release. The film will be shown in 6 cities across the US, including New York and Los Angeles.

In 2012, after announcing that he had converted to Rastafarianism and changed his name to Snoop Lion, Snoop met criticism by from Bob Marley and the Wailers band member, Bunny Wailer, who said that snoop was using the Rastafari movement for commercial gain; however, despite the harsh resistance that Snoop met by Wailer and other long time Rastafarians, Rohan Marley, the son of the legendary Bob Marley, spoke up on Snoops behalf and said that if His father were alive, he would support snoops decision and that would be it.

Below you will find a list of theaters and cities in which the film will be showing:

  • Sunshine Cinemas – New York City
  • Laemmle Monica and City Walk – Los Angeles
  • Opera Plaza – San Francisco
  • Century – Chicago
  • Midtown Art Cinema – Atlanta
  • Cinema – Miami
  • Ryan Yarnevich
