T.I. officially sentenced to One Year and On Day in Jail

  T.I., born Clifford Harris Jr was officially sentenced on March 27th. Where he was sentenced to one year and one day in prison for buying illegal machine guns and silencers on October 13, 2007 [read story here]. He was also ordered to pay a $100,300 fine on weapons charges.

  T.I. was also sentenced to some property forfeiture, supervised release for three years following his prison sentence, 365 days of home confinement (house arrest) and 1,500 hours of community service. So far Tip has completed 305 days of house arrest and 1,030 hours of community service. As well he must undergo DNA testing, drug counseling, cannot own firarms, must submit to resonable searches and financial audits.

  T.I. originally faced up to 20 years in prison but performing community service as part of his plea agreement with prosecutors reduced his sentence dramatically.

  As well he could get his current sentence of 1 year and 1 day even further reduced by 15% with good behavior.

  U.S. District Judge Charles Pannell agreed to ask prison officials to have T.I. surrender in the coming weeks but not before May 19.
