It looks like the new Death Row Records plans to get into the movie industry by launching Death Row Films for the release of their upcoming "Sons 2 the Grave" project. With filming for the project isn't set to begin until October, the movie will star Tonya Lee Williams and Dorian Harewood. Death Row CEO Lara Lavi recently expressed her aim with the new movie venture and spoke about the film.

"This film embodies what we're trying to do with Death Row, to tell human stories that don't always have happy endings, and that allow us to learn from violence and disenfranchised lives, but not glorify it," she said in an interview. "We're looking at film properties that relate to Boyz n the Hood-type stories, and to power the films with Death Row music."
