T.I. Could Be In A Halfway House Soon

After an Atlanta gossip blog reported that T.I. might be getting out soon and put into a halfway house, TIP's lawyer has come forward to clear up the rumors. According to Steve Sadow, the rap star's lead council in his federal firearms case, T.I. has a projected release date in "approximately the fourth week of March 2010." This date takes into account his 366-day sentence, minus 54 days for good behavior and 14 days "that he had in custody prior to sentencing."

As far as the half way house goes, T.I.'s lawyer says "it is up to the [Federal] Bureau of Prisons to decide whether someone should be placed in a halfway house prior to the projected release date," Sadow explained. "The Bureau of Prisons can do that and typically does it either a month before, or two months before… as much as six months before the projected release date." So will T.I. be out soon? We will see!
