In a highly publicized and unprecedented move, Roc Nation CEO and Rap Legend, Jay-Z signed super-star producer Timbaland to the Roc Nation Label.
The Rapper broke the news of his latest signing on his Life+Times website. There was picture posted of the two legends talking in the studio, with the caption reading, “Roc Nation Welcomes Timbaland”.
These two are no strangers, for they have worked together throughout their illustrious careers. It was in 1998 that Timbo produced Jigga’s hit “Nigga What, Nigga Who”. Other hits in which the two collaborated include “Big Pimpin” which also featured UGK artist, the late Pimp C and Bun B, “Dirt of Your Shoulder” and “Off That”, which featured Drake. Timbaland’s most recent endeavor saw him produce Justin Timberlake’s entire new album “Suit & Tie”, and he has made it clear that he has an interest in recording a full length LP with his new label boss, Jay-Z.
Jay-Z and Roc Nation have been very busy recently, signing acts such as M.I.A., Meek Mill, Elijah Blake, and Jahlil Beats. Looks like the Jigga man is planning another power move on the industry, it will be interesting to see how this one turns out.
