Ushers Wife Speaks On Divorce

After almost two years and among constant rumors that they were breaking up, Usher and his wife, celebrity stylist Tameka Foster-Raymond, filed for divorce in June, now the soon to be ex-wife of the hit R&B singer is speaking out about it. Talking to Upscale magazine, Mrs. Usher Raymond talked ab out how she was constantly judged for not living up to what people thought should be the wife of Usher. "I understand where all the negativity comes from," she told the magazine. "Unfortunately I think that some black women are — subconsciously — not in love with the image they see in the mirror. Therefore in turn they do not love someone like me. I look too much like them."
Saying that she would have been more accepted if she was more "exotic," she said "I was not given a fair shot." Tameka went on to say "People passed judgment without getting to know me. How can you get the entire concept of who I am from a blog?" With two sons with Usher, she says she still loves him. "The dissolution of marriage is always upsetting," she said. "You have the expectation that it will work. But, you know what? It didn't work. But [Usher's] a great guy. I will always love him."
