Lil Durk Explains Why He Compared Himself to 2pac

Posted By on August 8, 2014

Lil Durk addresses a comment he made about feeling like Tupac, and says that he meant it in terms of people stepping to him in the streets. The Chicago rapper said that aside from people that he’s beefing with, no one is stepping to him and his boys when they’re out. When asked about saying he’s the best rapper alive, Durk says that he has to think that way because his career would have no meaning if he didn’t believe he was the best in the game. He also says his work ethic isn’t at the level of some of the greats like Tupac, and Durk believes he could step it up in that regard. The conversation then moves to Young Chop’s influence on the Chicago sound, and Durk says the famed producer “played a big role” in molding the sound. The “Want it All” rapper also shares his thoughts on Chop’s comments about Lil Reese being one of the most talented rappers in the game. Durk says that if Reese wasn’t talented then people wouldn’t know his name, and points out that Reese started the “stutter rap” that other big names have now adopted.
