Wale finally speaks out about confronting two NBA commentators about cracking jokes about him at Washington Wizards game.
Wale found his way into the headlines when he decided to confront two NBA commentators that were calling a Washington Wizards game. It all started when Wale heckled a Toronto Raptors Player and it was brought to the attention of the commentators who took a few shots at Wale. The Washington, D.C. native did not take to kindly to the comments and decided to confront the commentators during the game.
During a recent interview with Power 99’s Cosmic Kev, the Maybach Music Group Alum took responsibility for his actions, saying that he could have handled the entire situation differently. He said that he got caught up in the moment and didn’t think about the ramifications at the time. He said that he could have handled the situation with more tack and respect.
“Anything at this point makes me sound volatile ‘cus when you’re in the moment, you don’t really think about that, but now I’m thinking, ‘Okay, I’m around all these white people, and I’m a black dude with dreads and tattoos walking upstairs to confront somebody’…I could see why that would be [frowned upon],” he explained. “Was I going over there to say, ‘Hello sir, my name is Wale, could you not talk bad about me?’ No, but I was going over there to be like, ‘Yo, my man, you gotta have a little respect, you’re in my town. I know you’re trying to do your job, and I ain’t trying to disrespect you.’ Whatever, but timing is everything, I could’ve waited. I can take that.”
Wale can take a little solace in the fact that he is not the only rapper that has been causing havoc around the NBA. Lil Wayne has definitely caused his share of problems.
