Freshman rapper Wale recently cleared up the situation he is in with Jay-Z's new Roc Nation label and even described how being under Jigga's label offers him a "Family" feeling. The Washington D.C. rapper talked about his Roc Nation associates including singer Malanie Fiona and rapper J Cole. "Roc Nation is a family so myself, Melanie Fiona, J. Cole -- it's a lot of these new young faces that you'll probably hear a lot more about in 2010 but myself, J.Cole & Melanie Fiona are carrying the flag as far as Roc Nation goes," Wale explained in an interview. "Some of us signed management [deals], some of us signed label [deals] through Columbia I believe. So it's a family, we talk all the time -- it's a family environment. This whole tour has been a family environment...I make what some people believe to be very good music -- and you can never let the hate stop you. I make good music and I make music for the soul." In related news, Wale's manager Dan Weisman, recently explained how Wale is signed to producer Mark Ronson but has agreed to be co-managed by Jay-Z's Roc Nation. "[It] just sort of happened organically," Weisman said of the new partnership. "Wale went on tour with Jay-Z last summer and got to know the Roc Nation people -- [he] went on tour with Mark Ronson, who was opening for Jay-Z in the U.K. Got to know [Jay] and it just seemed like a good move for him to do that."
