We recently reported on the Wu-Tang Clan getting ready to make and sell only one copy of their next “The Wu- Once Upon A Time In Shoolin” album. Now, RZA has reveleaed he recently had a MASSIVE offer to buy the one copy of the album.
According to Billboard, the Wu-Tang Clan member revealed that he recently had an offer of $5 million.
“Offers came in at $2 million, somebody offered $5 million yesterday,” RZA says during an interview with Billboard. “I’ve been getting a lot of e-mails — some from people I know, some from people I don’t know, and they’re also e-mailing other members of my organization. (HipHopDX)
RZA went on to say the $5 million offer is the highest so far and it proves to him that people are taking their vision very seriously.
“So far, $5 million is the biggest number,” he continues. “I don’t know how to measure it, but it gives us an idea that what we’re doing is being understood by some. And there are some good peers of mine also, who are very high-ranking in the film business and the music business, sending me a lot of good will. It’s been real positive.” (HipHopDX)
“We’re about to sell an album like nobody else sold it before,” says Robert “RZA” Diggs, the first Wu-Tang member to speak on record about Once Upon A Time In Shaolin, in an exclusive interview with FORBES. “We’re about to put out a piece of art like nobody else has done in the history of [modern] music. We’re making a single-sale collector’s item. This is like somebody having the scepter of an Egyptian king.”
