Frank Ocean Decides Not to Press Charges on Chris Brown

Posted By on February 4, 2013

The brawl between Chris Brown and Frank Ocean and their respective camps has become common knowledge over the past week. The story has changed several times. It was initially reported that Ocean instigated the incident over a parking spot at a Los Angeles recording studio, and then there was the anonymous eye witness that came forth and said that it was all Chris Brown’s doing; stating that Brown and Ocean had a dispute over parking spot and when Ocean refused to shake Brown’s hand afterward, he became angered and punched Ocean.

It had been recently reported that Ocean was seeking to file criminal assault charges against Brown based on the incident in question. It now seems that Ocean is willing to let bygones be bygones. The singer took to Tumblr posting a brief message to his fans indicating that he would not be pressing charges against Chris Brown. In the message, Ocean says that in his earlier years he might have been more apt to respond in a more rash manner.

“As a child I thought if someone jumped me it would result in me murdering or mutilating a man. But as a man I am not a killer. I’m an artist and a modern person. ”

He continued by revealing that his mindset is on a more “Live and Let Live” plain.

“I’ll choose sanity. No criminal charges. No civil lawsuit. Forgiveness, albeit difficult, is wisdom. Peace, albeit trite, is what I want in my short life. Peace.”
