Lupe Fiasco Escorted of Stage After Expressing Anti-Obama Sentiments

Chicago Rapper, Lupe Fiasco was escorted off the stage at Hamilton Live in Washington D.C. on Sunday night, January 20, 2013. Fiasco was booked to perform as part of the Inauguration celebration going on in D.C. over the weekend.

It is reported that mid show the rapper performed an anti-war song that went on for at least thirty minutes. During this phase of the performance Fiasco tells the crowd that he did not vote for the president in this past election. Reportedly, the entertainer was asked to move on to another song and when he failed to do so, several uniformed security officers approached him and asked him to step down off stage.

Josh Rogin of Foreign Policy was apparently present at the Hamilton live and sent out the following tweets via twitter:

“Lupe Fiasco just got thrown off stage here at the Hamilton Live after he went on an anti-Obama diatribe mid set.”

“So Lupe played one anti-war song for 30 min and said he didn’t vote for Obama and eventually was told to move on to the next song.”

“Lupe refused to move to the next song so a team of security guards came on stage and told him to go.”

It is still not yet clear as to whether there will be any civil action taken against the rapper concerning producing a subpar show. What is puzzling is why anyone would book an entertainer to perform at a celebration for an individual he has openly criticized in the past numerous times?
